Like fine wine, our alpacas come from only the finest of pedigrees. Our herd is comprised of huacaya and suri alpacas from the most well-known herdsires in the country.
The quality of our bloodlines consists of alpacas whose lineages can be traced back to importations from Peru, Bolivia, and Chile. We have "full Peruvian" alpacas, as well as alpacas with "Accoyo" bloodlines. We also have "full Bolivian" alpacas and Peruvian/Chilean or Bolivian crosses. We concentrate on pairing exquisite bloodlines in our breeding decisions and port of importation does not drive our breeding program.
We began our foundation herd with a "vintage" herdsire from the 5P importation - the one and only Peruvian Socosani, a medium silver grey huacaya imported by Linda Berry Walker. His crias are colorful (a majority of them are grey or black); additionally, his crias have excellent conformation, coverage, and fleece charater. Socosani is truly a "vintage" herdsire - "representative of the best" in grey genetics.
In 2004, we acquired a stunning light fawn Accoyo/Alianza herdsire from the well-respected Snowmass breeding program - Lilly's Accoyo Dupioni. Shown twice, Dupioni took the Blue both times and the Color Champion once - at four years of age! Dupioni's breedings sold out in 2004 and 2005.
